Dear Colleagues,

A big thank-you to Dr. Cichocki of Texas Veterinary Ophthalmology for joining us last month and walking us through the essentials of ophthalmology. His talk was packed with practical, clinically useful information, and we appreciate him taking the time to share his expertise and advice with us.

Please join us for our next meeting on Thursday, October 15, sponsored by VSNT and featuring Dr. Burney presenting internal medicine cases. If you’ve caught one of Dr. Burney’s case presentation talks before, you know these are always a crowd favorite — real-world cases, good discussion, and plenty of takeaways.

An important reminder on location: our meetings have moved next door for the remainder of 2026 and all of 2027. We’ll now be meeting in Luibel Hall (Room 108) in the Carl E. Everett Education and Administration Building (EAD). The EAD is the building next door to our usual meeting space and shares the same parking lot. Enter through the doors near the flagpole, walk around the atrium, and take the elevator down to Luibel Hall, Room 108.

Also, we are currently accepting nominations for Secretary of the Board for the coming year. If you’d like to nominate yourself or someone else, just reach out to Mandy Ricketts at mricketts@tcvma.com.

Lastly, please mark your calendar for our last meeting this year on November 19, featuring The Dog Aging Project, including a discussion on current trials such as their renowned TRIAD trial involving rapamycin.

We look forward to seeing you on the 15th! We’d love to see you in-person or virtually, but if you can come in person, please do — it helps secure future meetings’ sponsorships.

Sincerely,
Shelley Finger
President, Tarrant County Veterinary Medical Association
